From Appleton to Gulf Shores in 120 minutes

Nonstop ATW → GUF. No O'Hare. No layover. Fox Valley to Gulf Coast in two hours.

Why fly to Gulf Shores from Appleton?

Allegiant launched a nonstop from ATW straight to Gulf Shores Regional (GUF) in October. You park at a small, manageable airport, skip the O'Hare construction-zone experience entirely, and land two hours later a short drive from the beach. It's the best travel news to hit the Fox Valley in years — maybe ever.

We're a two-bedroom condo at Lani Kai, across the street from the Gulf — not a canal, not a bay, not 'water views if you lean off the balcony at the right angle.' Two minutes from the sand on foot. There's a full kitchen for when you don't feel like spending money on mediocre resort food twice a day, and enough space that two couples or a family with kids won't be stepping on each other.

I own and manage the place myself, which means when something needs attention you hear from me — not a ticketing system, not a call center. If you have a question before you book, email me. I'll actually answer.

When do Appleton travelers actually go?

February–March (Fox Valley escape season — four months of winter is enough for anyone)

Packers bye-week weekends (October–November — warm Gulf, no game to stress about)

Spring break (mid-March through mid-April — book early, ATW makes it easy)

  • ATW is your airport, not O'Hare. No two-hour drive south through Milwaukee traffic, no $40/day parking garage, no connection through Atlanta.
  • The Packers bye week is a built-in beach trip that most Fox Valley people ignore. October on the Gulf is still 75°, crowds are thin, and there's genuinely nothing else going on that weekend.
  • If you're the type who appreciates a good Friday night fish fry, Gulf Shores has the seafood equivalent — we'll point you to the spots that are actually worth it.

What questions come up most from Appleton travelers?

Does Allegiant really fly nonstop from Appleton directly to Gulf Shores?
Yes. Allegiant started ATW → GUF nonstop service in October. No connections, no hub airports, about two hours in the air. Days and frequencies are seasonal, so check Allegiant's site for the current schedule — but it's a real route and it runs.
How long does the full trip from Appleton to the beach actually take?
Flight is roughly two hours. Gulf Shores Regional (GUF) is a small airport — you're off the plane and in the car in 20 minutes. Our condo is a short drive from there. Realistically, under three hours from ATW parking lot to your feet in the sand. That's a number you can't hit driving, and you'd never match it if you flew through O'Hare.
I'm in Green Bay — is ATW still the right airport for this route?
ATW is about 30 minutes from Green Bay and it's the regional airport for the whole Fox Valley corridor. Green Bay, De Pere, Appleton, Neenah, Oshkosh — everyone in that stretch flies ATW. Same nonstop, same deal.
When's the best time of year for Wisconsin people to visit Gulf Shores?
February and March are peak escape season — that's when a Wisconsin winter has been grinding for four months and everyone's tolerance is at zero. Spring break weeks fill our calendar fast. If you want a sleeper pick: the Packers bye weekend in October. Gulf Shores is still in the 70s, summer crowds are gone, and it's exactly when you'd want a reason to get out of town.
