Bahama Bob’s Beach Side Cafe

0.2 Miles (4-min walk)

Our closest neighbor. Known locally for coconut shrimp and a relaxed beach-bar vibe. Perfect for a quick lunch off the sand.

Bill’s By The Shore

0.4 Miles (8-min walk)

A more refined casual experience. Excellent burgers, fresh salads, and a great outdoor seating area with Gulf views.

The Hangout

0.8 Miles (15-min walk)

The center of the Gulf Shores universe. Live music, a massive outdoor play area for kids, and a high-energy menu. Worth the stroll for the atmosphere alone.

Don't just stick to the sidewalk. You can walk along the shoreline from the public access right in front of our condo and cut back up to Bahama Bob's or The Hangout from the sand. It’s the ultimate "vacation mode" way to go to dinner.

Yes, West Beach is one of the most walkable areas in Gulf Shores. From our condo at The Shore Thing (728 W Beach Blvd), Bahama Bob's is only 0.2 miles away (~4 mins), and major hubs like The Hangout are less than a mile away (~15 mins).
Which walkable restaurants are directly on the beach?
Bahama Bob's Beach Side Cafe and The Hangout are both directly on the Gulf and within easy walking distance. Sea-n-Suds is another iconic beachfront option located just over a mile to the East.
Can I walk to a grocery store?
Pier 33 is a high-end local grocery and convenience store located about 0.4 miles (8 mins) East of the condo. It's perfect for picking up fresh deli items, basic groceries, or beach supplies without needing a car.
Is it safe to walk to restaurants at night?
Use normal nighttime caution. Beach access from the condo uses a marked crossing, and some nearby restaurants are easy walks, but sidewalks and lighting vary by stretch on W Beach Blvd. For late dinners, bad weather, or groups with kids, driving or rideshare may be easier.
